As our Real Estate Developer, Darla has a strong background of over ten years in planning and design. Her designing skills are evidenced in her ability to plan interior spaces, making them both functional and beautiful. Executing the needs and desires of the modern-day client is her primary goal. She has an intuitive sense of analyzing clients’ needs and making certain that building projects are finished in accordance within the projected timeline and budget. Her years as a designer have developed a keen eye for determining space requirements and selecting decorative items, such as colors, lighting and materials.

Before joining Perry Smith Development and its related entities as Chief Operating Officer, Laura’s professional background was the COO of a medical group of over 200 physicians with 42 office locations in eight counties and administrated a multi-million-dollar annual budget. As an Affiliate Broker, she brings to the real estate market that same intuitive ability to ascertain and analyze needs, to forecast goals, to streamline operations and to conceptualize new strategies for the overall operation of Smithsonian Real Estate. Two of her greatest strengths are the executive oversight of finances, plus facility renovations and/or relocations and expansions.
